Carter Sporting Club Limited (doing business as Castore) is a subsidiary of the Castore Group. J. Carter Sporting Club Limited was established in 1989 and is the parent business of the corporation. It was founded in 2015 by brothers Thomas (born September 1989) and Philip Beahon (born November 1992) when they were 25 and 22 years old, respectively, and has since grown to become a household name in the United Kingdom. Tom played with Tranmere Rovers as a youth player between the ages of 17 and 21 years old during his previous professional footballing career. In England, Phil was a semi-professional cricketer who played for the Cheshire and Lancashire cricket teams, before retiring in 1997 after 15 years of service.

That same year, they made the decision to leave their professional football careers and relocate to the capital city of London, where they sought employment as financial analysts in order to obtain funds for their sportswear company. Tom worked at Lloyds Bank, and Phil worked for Deloitte & Touche LLP. Their market research in London included interviews with members of high-end gyms as well as recruitment of numerous notable investors from the fashion and sports industries to participate in the study as part of their research. Castore began selling its products over the internet in 2016, marking the first year the company has done so. Forbes magazine has named the duo to its “30 Under 30” list for the second year in a row, recognising their achievements.
