STARTING OUT IN THE YEAR 1965 The first Fridays restaurant opened its doors in 1965 at the intersection of 63rd and 1st street in New York City, as the timeless slogan “In here, it’s always Friday” was proclaiming at the time. As a result of a goal to put on the “greatest show on earth,” which was inspired by the Barnum & Bailey Circus, a phenomena that is characterized by stripes of red and white came into being.
