The faces of DutchGrown are two brothers named Ben and Pete. Allow them to introduce their selves and tell you their tale. The lineage of this family has been documented for more than 150 years. One that includes four generations, three centuries of history, two continents, and the odd sibling brawl. DutchGrown are one of the oldest and most prestigious flower bulb exporters in the Netherlands, and it all started with a story.

Pete and Ben are still in Europe, though they’re in separate nations now, four generations later. While Ben refined his enormous talents in the Netherlands, Pete spent fifteen years in the US building the company’s internet presence.

DutchGrown capitalise on their abilities. As far as flower bulbs and people are concerned, Ben is an authority. He is an expert networker with wonderful relationships to all of the Dutch farmers and is more than willing to answer any questions his customers may have.

The technical genius behind DutchGrown, Pete has been creating websites for more than 20 years. His amiability belies his extreme geekiness; he even occasionally gets to meet clients outside of his basement. Actually, he and Ben do a lot of travelling to the US, EU, and UK for flower bulb expos and shows, where they meet and greet clients, make friends for life, and generally have a great time.

In 1882, their great-grandfather sent the Rotteveels on the road to their fate, and their adventure began then. After starting off in the Netherlands on the family farm, where he helped raise bulbs, he eventually moved to Germany and started selling them to other farmers. Opportunity, ambition, and adventure led him to board a boat and go to New York a year or so later; in fact, their great-grandfather was among the first Dutchmen to export flower bulbs to the United States. DutchGrown grandpa and dad carried on the business of selling flower bulbs, passing down their knowledge and experience from generation to generation. They were very successful, and they never compromised on quality or the happiness of their customers.
