The Story Of Lily Blanche

While on vacation with my grandma, Lily Blanche Sheridan, as a child, I encountered the windswept Isle of Skye in the Inner Hebrides, the setting for the Lily Blanche narrative. When I was a little girl, I discovered my first real pearl while playing on the lochshore, across from my grandmother’s white-washed croft. And that sparked my imagination.

Growing up, my grandma was always there to support and inspire me. All of their efforts at the Lily Blanche Studio are driven by her. Her jewellery box serves as an inspiration for many of their  creations.

Lily Blanche had a remarkable life after being born in 1903. She travelled thousands of miles

Once she got back to Britain, she and her family moved to Scotland, where she fell in love with the scenery, after her house near Portsmouth was destroyed in the blitz during World War II.

Lily Blanche was an exceptionally talented seamstress, knitter, crocheter, and chef. She also had a remarkable imagination. Reminiscing about my childhood, I loved exploring her island home, which was filled with fascinating artefacts from her travels.

I began playing around with my own creations after finishing my archaeology degree at Edinburgh University, where I focused on ancient metalworking and jewellery.
