About DutchGrown
DutchGrown, a family-owned flower bulb exporter, has a rich history dating back to 1882. The Rotteveels’ great grandfather, who started the company in 1882, set the path for their success by growing bulbs on their family farm in the Netherlands and selling them to local growers in Germany. He then moved to New York, where he became one of the first flower bulb exporters from Holland to arrive in the USA. The Rotteveels continued to export their knowledge and expertise in the flower bulb industry, achieving great success while maintaining quality and customer satisfaction.
DutchGrown takes pride in its personal approach to business and customer service, with one of the brothers, Ben and Pete, always present to answer questions. The company is committed to moving with the times and anticipating trends, with a fifth generation eager to follow in their footsteps.
The Rotteveels’ journey began with their great-grandfather, who was one of the first flower bulb exporters from Holland to arrive in the USA. They now work in Europe, albeit in different countries, with Pete spending 15 years in the USA developing the online side of the business while Ben honed his skills in the Netherlands.
Ben, the flower bulb expert and ‘people person’, has strong connections with all Dutch growers and is always happy to help customers. Pete, the techy guy, has been developing websites for over 20 years and is known for his personability. They often travel to the USA, Europe, and the UK for flower bulb exhibitions and expos, fostering long-lasting connections and friendships.
